Mangaluru: Police reunite missing students with parents

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Feb 6: The two girl students of a PU college from the city, who had gone missing all of a sudden after college hours on February 1 have since been brought back and entrusted to the care of their parents.

Students of St Aloysius PU College here, Jacqueline (17) from Urwa Chilimbi in the city, and Smriti (17) from Suratkal, were brought to the city from Palakkad in Kerala on Friday February 5. Both were first PU students in commerce stream.

Tracing of the students, who had not been sighted since February 1 afternoon, had become a challenge for police, as they had not taken their cellphones with them. On February 4, they got information that the girl students were in a railway station in Kerala, after which a team headed by Bunder police inspector here,Shantaram, had left for Kerala. The police are unclear as to how and why the girls headed into Kerala.

In the meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada district union of Muslim organizations and Campus Front of India have accused the police of escorting Muhammed Nishar from Casba Bengre, who happens to be a student of a tutorial college, and torturing him in the name of interrogation.

The fact is that the girls got low marks in the exams and hence were reluctant to go home. There's nothing else to imply here.

It's sad to read some of the nonsensical comments posted here.
Please show maturity, have heart and some compassion for these two innocent children as well as their families and friends! Do not ruin their lives by posting meaningless destructive comments that lack sanity!
What these girls (and perhaps their parents) need is counseling and guidance, which will hopefully help bring them back into mainstream society and make them better citizens!

After hearing my daughter, I observed personally, every girls school, school leaving time outside, there is group of boys waiting and watching girls, If any girls fell in to there racket, they spend money etc.and spoil there life. Just visit state bank circle (Hamilton cirlce) In bike they run between schools and attract girls. If any police interrogate. they have political support and close the issue. Now we have strict police commissioner. we expect. this will stop. All school and college have to keep CC camera outside campus to observe this and has to give complaint to police to take strict action and outside coin box has to be removed to misuse of this. Only in school campus/ office, it has to be installed with proper supervision.

Mr. Robert not only Parents, our education system also to be blamed.

This is only my opinion, not for argument.

In our primary & secondary education, do they teach any moral how to live & lead our own life in this present modernised world?

Still they teach us old history, from that 95% useless in modern society.

They should change the education system by teaching present generation how to respect their parents or elders, how to your own carrier, how to & live with your life partner without neglecting both the parents.

How to guide their future generation Etc.
How to respect religion & culture

This should be a part of the education system then only Children's mind will develop for family atmosphere.

Watching TV serials & influenced by the useless stories, Luxurious life style & social college life destroys our young generation.

Respecting religion & society is also important.

All parents here who are commenting - do you really keep a tab on your children once they are off to school\college? Does any one knows what activities they are into until they return home? Forget outside - how many parents commenting here know what their grown up children do in their room\house? Can you really keep a tab on their mobile conversations?
Many giving advise to parents to teach good things to their children. Which parent does not do that?
But can we really monitor them in present days when they go far to their schools\colleges?
In my opinion 90% of the children going to school\colleges behave well.
Only some well to do parents' children and their cronies (errand boys\girls) go astray and fall into temptations\crimes. and sometimes poor children too who long for better things\life.
