With the price of some varieties of fishes already at the highest, now price of other cheaper variety of fishes will also rise with this promotion on consumption and conservation.

Why does the faculty wear T-shirts over other shirts and other garments? Why cant they remove their shirts and get into the T-shirt printed for the marathon.

The reason fish is so expensive is due to the export of fish and the fish oil industry. The government has to crack down on the fish oil industry and specify as to which fish can be used for this purpose. Otherwise the common man will indeed suffer.

Such awareness can boost demand for fish. Now white Promfret and Surmai, Hamour prices are beyond common man’s reach and with the awareness even boothai and bangda would disappear from the market due to high demand.
Alternatively, the mutton price may come down.

Today, tur daal and fish has slipped out of my family budget.
Though coming from a modest family, as a youngster, we had good variety fish on our dining table. When I was outside India, Pomprets, king fish and lobsters were looking like dime a dozen to me. But, when I asked my Assistant, a contract employee whose residence was near fish market, he told me "Sir, I have never eaten pompret in my life, not now and may not be in the future."
Same thing has happened to us now, regarding good variety fish. I never allow my wife to pass thru the place where pomprets and king fish are sold.

I am confused. Marathon for promoting fish... Is it for refraining from eating fish to promote fish population or is it to promote eating fish??

It is conserve and consume...not a very good news for fishes out there...hope this kind of promotion will come to other animals too....At the moment though fish demand is more than production so no need to promote..it will make it more expensive..
