Mangaluru, Mar 3: Viewers in coastal Karnataka will have something very special this summer in entertainment. Tulu television screen has not seen any serial of this magnitude. 'Ajane' the first mega serial in Tulu language will be telecast on Daijiworld 24x7 from April during prime time. The serial has been produced by Jeevan D'Souza of Tomcat Productions and directed by Srikanth Y R.

Incidentally, it is also the first Tulu serial to be telecast on Daijiworld 24x7. The producer has not taken his task lightly. He has roped in talented professionals with years of experience in the television and media industry. Daijiworld 24x7, which has become a household name in entertainment, has another feather in its cap now with 'Ajane'. The serial is set to become a trend setter in entertainment industry in coastal Karnataka.
'Ajane' as the name suggests is a delightful cocktail of wily twists and turns, chills and drama. Ajane will have the viewers wanting and wanting for more. Ajane gives a right mix of entertainment with ample humour quotient, romance, suspense and also some horror.
'Ajane' will feature famous theatre and film celebrities in prominent roles to ensure the wide audience acceptance. The mantra is to offer a full fledged family entertainer for all age groups.
Ajane will have minimum 104 episodes and will be telecast twice a week. The first 20 episodes will be telecast on prime time in two-and-a-half months and the remaining 84 episodes will continue thereafter for one year.
Srikanth Y R, also called Sridhar, is an artiste and a film maker. Not satisfied with being just on stage, he displayed his talents at script writing and directing. Restless to do more, Srikanth also produced telefilms, one of which has been telecast on national channel 'Chandana.'
Tomcat productions started by Jeevan D'Souza has selected more than 150 artistes to contribute to the serial. Jeevan D'Souza, having spent many years abroad, is a perfectionist and does not compromise with quality. "I want to offer best opportunites to the artistes of our land. We want to train them and groom them. At the same time, I want to contribute my service to the Tulu language. We have plans to provide wholesome entertainment to Tulu viewers at par with international quality."
Clarence Pinto, Ranjith Suvarna and Suprith Kotian are assistant directors. Mayur R Shetty is the cinematographer with Preethiraj as his assistant.
