Sugandhraj Bekal elected president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah

Sharjah, Mar 26: Sugandhraj Bekal has been elected president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, one of the premier associations for Kannadigas in the UAE, for the year 2016 – 2017.

The elections was held during the recent annual general meeting of the Association.

The new working committee of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah for 2016-2017 is as follows:

President - Sugandharaj Bekal
Vice-presidents - M E Muloor and Basanth Bekal
General secretary - Abdul Razak
Joint general secretary - B M Dinesh Acharya, Nityanand Bhandari,
Treasurer - Shashikant Kanangi
Joint treasurers - Anand Bailoor and Yadav Kotian
Entertainment secretary - Vishwanath Shetty
Joint entertainment secretary - Sandeep Rao
Sports secretary - Rajesh Kutthar
Joint sports secretary - Jeevan Kukian
Public relations officers - Ananth Raman and Mooli Mane

Advisory panel: Ganesh Rai, Noel D'Almeida, Sathish Poojary, Shantaram Achar, Prabhakar, Ambalthere, Satheesh Venkataramana, Praveen Kumar Shetty (Mayura Awardee), and Harish Sherigar (Mayura Awardee).

The annual general meeting for the year 2016 began with a welcome speech by Ananth Raman, outgoing general secretary, followed by a speech by outgoing president, Satheesh Venkataramana, who thanked all the members of the 2015 working committee for extending their support and cooperation in making 2015 a grand success. Venkataramana then extended his heartiest congratulations to the newly-elected working committee members for the year 2016.

The swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected working committee was conducted by the patron of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Mark Dennis D'Souza, ably assisted by advisor Prabhakar Ambalthere. All the newly-elected committee members assumed responsibility by taking oath to extend their selfless service towards this esteemed Sangha.
