Kundapur, Mar 31: Kundapur sub-divisional DySP M Manjunath Shetty has been selected for the Chief Minister's gold medal this year.
He has been serving as Kundapur police subdivision since January 2015. He hails from Marali of Kenchur, Brahmavar.
Belonging to the 1993 batch, Manjunath Shetty began his career as sub-inspector and has served in police stations at Subrahmanya, Puttur, Beltangady, Bantwal, Mangaluru, Ullal, Bengaluru and Udupi.
Along with Manjunath Shetty, Mangaluru's Bunder police SI Shantharam, Ullal police SI Bharati, Bajpe police constable Mohammed and reserve police inspector Sachin Lawrence have also bagged the Chief Minister's gold medal this year.
In all, 105 people have been selected for the medals this year. The award consisting of a certificate, Rs 5,000 and a gold medal will be presented by chief minister Siddaramaiah during the Police Flag Day celebrations on April 2.
