Suadi Arabia, Apr 5: Jokatte Area Muslim Welfare Association (JAMWA) here, has planned to organize a family gathering event 'Gammatt-2016' scheduled to take place on the eve of April 28 at Petro Kemya Beach Camp, Jubail Industrial City. According to a press release distributed here, the main objective of the event is to promote the noble cause by the title 'Let’s join together for community welfare' at Jubail.
The president of JAMWA Dammam and Jubail committee Abdul Rahman Ahmed stated that Jokatte Area Muslim Welfare Association (JAMWA) was established at Riyadh in 2004, under the leadership of a few like-minded youth hailing from Jokatte, aiming to bring the Gulf based expatriates of Jokatte and the surrounding community under one umbrella and to extend helping hands to the less fortunate, destitute and downtrodden families of Jokatte and its proximity, fulfilling their educational and medical needs, meet marriage related expenses of orphan girls and those who suffer from extreme pangs of poverty throughout the community.
Accordingly JAMWA is planning to organize the above quoted Gammatt2016 for the purpose of fund raising for the programme's noble cause. The event will be a one-night get together with a variety of joyful sport events, awakening speeches, quiz etc. conducted separately for men, sisters and little ones. The occurrence expects an approximate turnout of 2,500 expats from all nooks and corners of Saudi Arabia he added in the statement.
He further said, "Targeting the upliftment of the community in 2012, JAMWA has contributed a valuable amount through its first 'GAMMATT' family gathering to purchase a fully fledged land for the purpose of higher education under Anjuman Educational Institution, Jokatte. However, the cost incurred is becoming very expensive that after analyzing and making an accurate study of the society we came to a conclusion that establishing a well-furnished community hall as an income source, will serve our purpose of affording a considerable portion towards education, empowerment, economic development and for the betterment of the downtrodden community of Jokatte and its surroundings."
Presently JAMWA has about 400 members hailing from Riyadh, Dammam, Jubail and Jeddah and other cities of Saudi Arabia actively participating towards the social cause. The core activities of the association are briefly outlined below :
Disbursement of scholarships of Rs 1,50,000 in one year to students from 8th to 12th std.
Contribution of Rs 50,000 towards the marriage of poor and Yatheem girls. At present they are contributing a total amount of Rs 5 lac a year for 10 families.
Distribution of monthly rations worth Rs 1000 / family to a minimum of 20 families.
Distribution of Ramadan kit for approximately 200 families a year.

To establish a well-furnished community hall as an income source for the betterment of the Jokatte community and its surroundings.
