North Korean capital's population up

Seoul, April 17 (IANS): North Korea's capital Pyongyang might have experienced a slight rise in population compared to a year ago, a media report said on Sunday.

Pyongyang's population was recorded at 2.86 million at the end of last year, marking a small increase from the 2.85 million found a year before that, the Washington-based Radio Free Asia said on Saturday.

North Korea has a population of about 24.8 million, less than half the size of South Korea's 51.5 million people.
