Mangalore: Governor Inaugurates ‘Mangalore Dasara’ at Kudroli Temple

Mangalore, Oct 14: The governor of Karnataka, Rameshwar Takoor, paid a visit to Sri Gokarnanatheshwar Temple, Kudroli, on Sunday, October 14.
At the same time, he flagged off the ‘Mangalore Dasara’ at Kudroli temple premises.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that he has seen many temples all over India and few places across the world. But, he has not seen such a decoration elsewhere, he said.
‘It’s significant to note that this temple is open to all sections of the society’, he stated.
Brahmashree Narayan Guru, the visionary and spiritual leader of Billava community has propogated the Mantra of ‘one caste, one religion and one God.’ One should emulate this noble message of Narayan Guru, he advised.
Speaking on this occasion, Rajya Sabha member, Janardhan Poojary said that, Rameshwar Takoor has come here not just as a governor but as a freedom fighter, since he was involved in the freedom struggle in the free Independence era. Perhaps he has not dreamt that some day he would lead the state administration, thereby serve the country in free India, he added.
‘The authority does not remain for long. However what you achieve during your term would become history. The citizens of Karnataka are expecting a lot from you, during this crucial stage’, Poojary stated to the governor.
At the same time, governor felicitated sculptors, Rajashekhar from Shimoga, Chandrashekhar Suvarna from Mulky and Raghavendra Kuloor, the temple trustee.
Jaya C Suvarna, president of Federation of Billava Associations and H S Sai Ram, president of the temple were present on the dais.
