We want to develop/build under-water bullet trains with the cost of Rs 97,636 crore. First let them solve the water problem all over India. With so much money and Japanese technology we can bring some relief to parch and draught his areas in India.
This is the right time to diver the attention to find alternate resources like harnessing the water flowing freely in the Sea and also desalination of sea water.
I really sympathize for the peoples hardships and discomfort due to shortage of water and electricity problems. The humidity is the worst to add to the misery.

I don't always blame politics,But even after a long discussion we end up telling its because of politics. and People also have lack of awareness, they simply waste it as if its available easily even after knowing it very well.
But in my sense its the politics playing a major role.
What I mean is absence of "Strict Politics & Careless Citizens & Political Leaders".

As Saldhana said in below line:
Paani Nahi hey tho Zehar Peeke hi marna padega (smiley)

Am stopping it here because I and U can argue whole day,But Politics in India can never be changed. Its a sad truth & we must face all the bad consequences in future.

Please let me know what is the height of Thumbe Dam and the years in which the heights were raised. This should be public information because like the roads approved for tarring 20 ft are actually tarred just 14 feet and the difference pocketed. Dear prospective apartment buyers in Mangaluru,
Don't get fooled by the colorful brochures, plentful amenities and sweet talk of builders/promoters, what you witness now is the harsh ground reality of this town. No leader, regardless of the party genuinely interested to solve this issue. Nexus between the politicians and builders is nothing new.Every year we are hearing about so much has been sanctioned to increase the height of vented dam at Tumbe and with that increased capacity, there won't be water scarcity for another 20 years or so. Just promises! And once the monsoon sets in, we citizens also forget this until next summer and this cycle repeats.

From the common man to the builders political all are responsible for this disaster. Roads are widen for traffic in an unscientific plan just to fill the pockets of all pwd contractors, minister of mangalore. Have some one questioned them what they done with the wood which they cut down in Valencia jeppu. There is no point our MLA visits temples mosques church to pray for rain. He must stop all this nonsense activities and stop cutting down of trees, giving licences for building of new apartments when thousands of flats are empty and not occupied. I have seen in Gulf countries how the user water is recycled and used for watering of trees plants and maintaining of parks. Hats off these leaders. And we bunch of leaders or so called monkeys in our city of intelligent people who instead of recycling they let it to the sea or river. Dear friends instead of blaming those corrupt politicians business men we must do take responsibility to save our earth.

Now the time has come to know the value of water. do not blame any body. It is our habit to blame others when problem comes. Unless we plan we will not survive.
we can built tall buildings but can not repair or maintained the old drainage. Because of that we lost hundreds of sweet water wells in mangalore. We are fully depends for Tume dam.Just imagine if it doesn't work. please take of all well in Mangalore . There is enough water but don't allow it to pollute.
Make sure to plant some trees in and around all flats. We had thousands of people who lived in gulf and abroad they have seen the water management in those places. People can share or help their ideas. Let us join together for this cause. Together we can solve the problem.
DO NOT TRUST ON WEATHER FORECAST FOR GOOD MONSOON. NO PREDICTION WAS THERE FOR SUCH TERRIBLE PROBLE.

Met Dept's temp reading equipment is either flawed or they are misguiding the public by saying max temp is 36 degrees C, actual temp is around 40, humidity is increasing as the summer is reaching its peak!

Many open/borewells have dried up, many water levels have receded considerably!!

With so many skyscrapers in place, heavens know how they will survive the summer??

Mangluru water situation will worsen in the times to come!! Time for people to ponder those who stay in flats!!

Many cities watering lawns, cleaning vehicles with water jets, swimming pools have been banned, why is it not being implemented here?

BOREWELL IS ONLY A TEMP SOLUTION, OVER A PERIOD OF TIME IT WILL LEAD TO A VERY SEVERE WATER CRISIS, WHICH PEOPLE SHOULD UNDERSTAND!!

IT IS RIGHTLY SAID, IN FUTURE WARS WILL BE FOUGHT FOR WATER!!

We play politic in our House my dear. Before we had joint family. Big Land Space, One Well, Clothes were jointly washed by females, One kitchen jointly cooked. Jack fruit trees, mango trees, coconut tree all around. Now we are educated, we are independent. Everyone child in that house need separate House, so all the tree were cut, the big land space was divided for independent House. Then independent refrigerator, washing machine, Car etc. The well besides old house get seepage of sewage water as houses close by are disposing sewage waste to the ground, so the well needs to be closed. Then we opt for municipality water connection for each house. From where govt will provide water for all. We have become intolerant towards our family forget society, then we start blaming everyone else. I feel you did not experience the advantage of joint family. Sharing and caring all these are distance dream. Our child does not know how Mango Tree looks like. We educated, developed but we have lost our culture. It is Govt policy not to divulge correct temperature when it is high. They always show Temp. less than what it is. That helps many to bear the higher temperature thinking that it has not reached 48C!!! (40C)

    Dear AF,
Ambient temperature is measured for saturated air at shade, not exposing instrument to direct sunlight. For example if ambient temperature is 35 degree C then definitely direct sunlight will be at much higher temperature. Air movement and relative humidity will alter ambient temperature depending on positioning of earth, wind speed, landscape refration, latent absorption, air density etc. After all it is physics. No issues.

Finally the day has come where people are seriously facing the water scarcity!!! :) :) :)

I have put those smileys because , We people can buy anything with money but if the basic necessity itself is not available,How can we survive (this is just for RICH people out there,No hard feelings please,Because this is what is happening)

Some wise steps which can be taken to prevent water scarcity :

1.In hotels please keep water jugs and glasses, instead of giving water to people who visit hotel,As daily lots of glasses of water is being wasted in this way.

2.Washing machines - if you washing machine is automatic then just make it manual,as we have presets to limit water consumption in washing machine these days,Better stop using the machines!

3.Cover wells/large tanks with some dark protective layer so that water wont get evaporated

4.Try to reduce the quantity of water that is being used for bathing.

5.use water wisely whenever possible in general cases, like car wash etc.

6.Avoid going under direct sun light ,be in shade so that the intake of water will be less by US as well :)

7.Try eating more veggies/fruits with water ,instead of direct intake of water.

    8. At least now starting from Rainy season please, follow the above rules even if there is abundant supply of water. So that we take care of water.

9.grow more plants in your vicinity!!!Try to keep environment cool

    10. Take a oath to save water, as its natural resource!!!!Hope you all didn't forget it!!!!!
