Mangalore, Oct 19: At the annual general meeting of the Mangalore Ladies' Circle 82 held in the Mangalore Club, Morgan's Gate, Mangalore, Circler Philomena Castelino was unanimously elected chairperson of Mangalore Ladies Circle 82 for the year 2007-2008.

Mangalore Ladies Circle is a part of Ladies Circle International. Ladies Circle is a non-political, non-sectarian organization made up of the wives of members of Round Table.

It offers an opportunity for fostering and strengthening friendships between like-minded young women below the age of 40. It also helps create a better understanding of the obligations one owes to the society. “Friendship and Service” is its motto.

The Mangalore Ladies Circle has strongly supported the national theme of "Freedom through Education" and has undertaken several projects to enable dream come true for several children.

The group has also undertaken several projects towards empowerment of Women and promotes environmental causes as well.
