Kasargod: Police seize Rs 2 lac cash, gold from bus - One in custody

Kasargod, May 7: Kerala police seized Rs 2 lac in cash from a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus on the night of Thursday May 5.

In this connection, a person named Belvasi Hilwar (32), resident of Kolkata, was taken into custody.

Cash was found during the operation conducted at Talapady on Thursday by a police team led by Kumble police circle inspector, Abdul Muneer, and Manjeshwar sub-inspector, Pramod. The cash was found from a bus that was moving towards the town from Mangaluru.

At around 8 pm the same day, 1.7 kg of gold ornaments were found from another bus that was bound for the town from Mangaluru. A suitcase containing the ornaments was found kept under the back seat of the bus. However, there were no claimants for these ornaments in the bus.

There are rumours that black money is flowing into the state for being distributed among voters for buying their votes in the coming assembly election. Since a week, the police have tightened vigil, and large scale inspection and verification is on, and cash and gold have been recovered in a number of cases.

    when a passenger had only two lacs Money ,find nothing wrong in it.why should be in custody ?when a large an´mount of Money without Explanation is,then ok.and Gold too ,find is Explanation required.whether it is from theft?
