Nasik, Oct 22: Bollywood actress Bhumika Chawla on Sunday October 21, tied the nuptial knot with yoga guru Bharat Thakur in Guru Nanak Dev Gurudwara at Devlali Camp near here.
The marriage was performed in a simple ceremony attended by close relatives and friends of Chawla and Thakur.
The Thakur family is a native of Devlali Camp while the actress, who shot into fame with musical blockbuster Tere Naam a few years ago, is the daughter of Col (retd) Ajitsingh Chawla.
Bhumika was born in Delhi and completed her schooling there. She moved to Mumbai in 1997 and started her career with ad films and Hindi music video albums. Her first feature film (‘Yuvakudu’) in Telugu with Sumanth was released in 2000.
Her second film ‘Khushi’ (2001) with Pawan Kalyan was a super hit in Telugu. She has so far done eleven films in Telugu and three in Tamil. She has recently acted in Tamil film ‘Sillunu Oru Kaadhal’.
Bhumika was also appreciated for her acting in the recent Gandhi My Father .
A millionaire Bharat Thakur and Bhumika were in love for a long time. Bhumika has expressed her desire to continue acting after her wedding.
