Bangalore: M P Prakash Raises Revolt against JD (S) Supremo Deve Gowda
Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (MM/RD)
Bangalore, Oct 23: For the first time after president’s rule imposed in the state, major political developments have taken place here, in the state capital. Former home minister M P Prakash has raised voice against JD (S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda.
Mean while, he has discussed with the Congress leader Prithviraj Chowhan, who has taken the responsibility of Karnataka, to form an alternate government in the state. Though, no clear picture on forming a new government has sited so far, while the recent developments signified that JD (S) would likely to split over the issue.
Sources indicated that about 17 to 18 MLAs are supporting M P Prakash. But, these numbers would not suffice to form the government with the support of Congress.
In Good Times: MP Prakash with Deve Gowda
On the other hand, former BJP minister Nagaraj Shetty and BJP state president Sadanand Gowda have rushed to the state capital from Mangalore on Tuesday, October 23. However, the BJP has no hope of forming the government with the support of JD (S), since the union government has imposed president’s rule in the state.
On the other hand, former BJP deputy chief minister Yediurappa has been urging for mid-term polls, in order to capitalise on the anti-Deve Gowda waves across the state.
The former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and Congress leader D K Shiva Kumar are also urging for mid-term poll. But, the Congress has been cautious of its move, since the situation is in its control. The Congress has convinced of the fact that the present situation would not be conducive for the party. That has been the cause; it tries to delay the poll process.
Meanwhile, the Congress party seems not interested in forming alternate government. A group led by D K Shiva Kumar, Siddaramaiah, Dharam Singh and others, are not willing to go ahead with JD (S), because the Congress has already burnt its fingers by forming coalition government with JD (S) in the state, in the recent past. This made the Congress to stay away from JD (S).
Moreover, the voters across the state, who elected these MLAs who are ready to hop from one party to another for greed of power and money, are in the state of confusion. Only time can answer all their queries.
