Water flow in the river too has increased. Daily supply of water will be kept up till the level comes down to 6.5 feet, it is gathered. Since the last about a month, the people in the city were getting water supply once in three days, and there were apprehensions of the water supply being stopped completely as the water level had touched the bottom.
As per current expectations monsoon might hit the coast in about two weeks time. At present, there are regular rains in western ghats resulting in increased flow of water in River Kumaradhara. As water released from Nekkilady dam is flowing into Thumbay dam now regularly, there has been considerable improvement in the situation.
