Mangalore, Oct 31: A decision was taken to constitute a special police team involving DK, Udupi, and Bangalore CCBs at a special meeting held here, on Tuesday October 30.

It is understood that as the real estate business is mushrooming at a fast pace in Bangalore and in the DK and Udupi, the tentacles of the underworld activities has simultaneously extended even to this part of the country. In this context CCB (Bangalore) joint commissioner Gopal Hosur pointed out that on the instruction of an underworld don many are involved in collecting ‘Hafta’ and threatening builders in the city.

Hence a meeting of SPs of Udupi, DK and Bangalore will be convened soon to discuss on the matter. Superintendent of police Satheesh Kumar stated that the probe on Subba Rao murder case is at an ongoing stage and he revealed that the three shooters who had been arrested recently, were not involved in that murder case.

Further according to him it is indeed good that the modus operandi of the underworld be traced in the beginning itself, so that it does not grow bigger.

On this occasion, CCB (Bangalore) assistant commissioner Ravikanthe Gowda, (western range IGP) A M Prasad and few other police officials were present.

It is very good move by the police to tackle the issue at the stage of its infancy. Good luck to police and comfort to the people of the state.

Before Mr. Prasad can deal with the extortionists he should first clean and clear up his own department who think it is their right to demand for bribes. If one has to go the SP's office, without shelling out your hard earned money for the wrong purpose!! your work is not done. Just as charity begins at home, hope the "cleaning up" also will begin at home - Mr. Prasad.
