M’lore: Journalists Ravindra Shetty, Hilary Crasta Bag District Rajyotsava Award

Mangalore, Oct 31: A total of 29 people including well-known Kannada journalists Ravindra Shetty and Hilary Crasta, have been nominated for the Dakshina Kannada district Rajyotsava award for the year 2007.
Ravindra Shetty, resident of Badurpadav has been working as reporter of Vijaya Karnataka Kannada daily now. After completing BA from St Aloysius College and LLB from SDM Law College, he has worked for several newspapers, like Hosa Digantha, Netravati Varte, Samyukta Karnataka, Janavahini and TV channel CAD. He has also been serving as the president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ (DKWJ) Association at present. The new press club building was constructed at Lady Hill, with a cost of Rs 50 lac, during his tenure as a president of DKWJ Association.

Hilary Crasta, resident of Naranpady in Kasargod village is a postgraduate in Kannada. He finished his BA and MA in Kannada at Kasargod Government College. Later he served in Mungaru and Raknno. At present, he is serving as the reporter of Udayavani Kannada daily.
