Kuwait : Nov 3: Tulu Koota Kuwait under the Presidentship of Satichchandra Shetty celebrated its mega event of the year Tulu Parba- 2007 on Friday 2nd November 2007 at Kuwait Fencing Society Hall in Daihya from 11 am to 5:45pm.
The prime events of Tulu Parba-2007 were Magic show by Prahlad Acharya, one of the best magicians in India and Dance-Ballet by ‘Nrithya Vidya Nilaya Dance School’ from Mangalore- India. They made the audience to glue to their seats till the last moment.
The program started with welcome dance by Nritya Vidya Nilaya followed by traditional lighting of the lamp by managing Committee members, release of souvenir by President Satichchandra Shetty and inauguration of new look website www.tulukootakuwait.org. Vice President Helen Pinto welcomed the gathering.
TKK children entertained the audience by their dances Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Dambells, Madme Navile Nalipu Oh Navile and Mime show. Mimicry and Mime show by Prashaal Manohar was an added attraction of the day.
Tulu speaking Magician Prahlad Acharya mesmerized the audience by his magic tricks, shadow play and Ventriloquism (Mathanaduva Manga). It was a new experience for the Kuwait audience. He tickled the ribs of gathered crowd by his hilarious jokes. Many times audience forgot to clap by the deep involvement and excitement during the magic show.
Delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian lunch prepared by Oriental Restaurant was served during interval. Cinematic dances by Sangamam Dance Troup and Kalabhavana Kuwait entertained the audience in between. Bharata Dharshana directed by Suresh Salian was simply great and was appreciated by audience and visiting artists. Joke enacted by Madhvaraj, Sanath, Sudharshan, Charit was short and sweet.
Visiting Dance troup “Nritya Vidya Nilaya” consisting of 6 members U.K.Praveen, Usha Praveen, Swetha Moodigere, Apeksha K. Upadhyaya, U.P.Sharan and U.P.Chandan gave a complete entertainment by their great dances. They hypnotized the audience by their dances with themes Yesu Christa Katha, Koravanji Dance, Bhasmasura Mohini, Fisherman dance, Shivatandava Nritya and Miracles of Jesus Christ. Local TKK artists also joined them for the dances with professional training and practice.
Visiting artists were felicitated by President Satichchandra Shetty and his excellency M. Ganapathi, ambassador of India to Kuwait. Outstanding students of TKK family Dillon Noronha, Rashmi C Alva, Prameela D’souza and Alan Robin D’Souza were felicitated and given scholarship. President Satichchandra Shetty and his excellency M. Ganapathi, ambassador of India to Kuwait spoke during this occation. Satichchandra Shetty informed the gathering regarding the planned Kuwait- Mangalore flight which is scheduled to start during December and thanked Pascal Pinto and Archie Menezes for their efforts in this regard. He also explained the inconvenience done by postponing the program due to the problem with hall and insisted Ambassador to take steps to have a hall for Indian programs.
The well arranged program came to an end with vote of thanks by A.K.Ravindra. The program was coordinated by Tharendra P. Shettigar and well compered by Shalini Vijay, Sachidananda Suvarna, Soumya Shankar Shetty, Swarna Shetty and Chandrahas Shetty.
