Udupi, Nov 3: ‘Kazulo Porab 2007,’ organized by ‘Kazulo’ children’s Konkani monthly, in association with Udupi parish, was held at St Cecily’s school auditorium on Thursday November 1.

Fr Mathew Vas, dean of Udupi deanery inaugurated the programme and graced the occasion. Fr Vishal Lobo, assistant priest of Udupi parish, parish council vice-president Arvin Alva, secretary Rita D’Silva, St Cecily’s Kannada Medium School headmistress Sr Silviana and English Medium School headmistress Sr Rosemita, Raknno-Kazulo editor Fr Francis Rodrigues and Raknno manager Percy Noronha were present on the dais.


Later various competitions, and entertainment programmes were held for the children under the leadership of Raknno sub-editor Pachhu Ferar. Denis Monteiro, Rekha D’Souza and Roshan D’Souza were the judges for these events. At the same time Bendur parish team and Ranson Crasta performed various cultural programmes and a drama about Jesus Christ.



Valedictory ceremony:

The valedictory ceremony was held in the evening. Udupi Episcopal vicar Fr Baptist Menezes presided over the function while Kannada writer Udyavara Madhava Acharya was the chief guest. ‘Jagal,’ collection of stories written by David D’Souza Vamanjur, ‘Bhangarachi Imaz,’ collection of children’s stories written by J F D’Souza Attavar and ‘Pachvi Dhorti,’ Konkani devotional CD produced by Raknno were released on this occasion. Konkani Sahitya Academy awardee Shirtady William Pinto was felicitated on the occasion.

Jockim Pinto proposed vote of thanks. Derel D’Souza and Amora Monteiro compered the programme.
