New Delhi: President's Rule in Karnataka Revoked
PTI
New Delhi, Nov 8: Ending the suspense, Centre on Thursday revoked President's rule in Karnataka, paving the way for the formation of the BJP-JD(S) government in the southern state once again.
The decision was taken by the Union Cabinet two days after the Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur submitted his "final" report on the BJP-JDS demand for invitation to form the government.
The BJP would be sharing power with the H D Devegowda-led JD(S), whose coalition had collapsed last month on the issue of transfer of power which led to imposition of President's Rule in the state on October 9.
The BJP and JD(S) had even paraded their MLAs before President Pratibha Patil a couple of days back to press for their demand as the two parties suddenly came together to share power after parting ways making charges and counter-charges.
The BJP has projected former Deputy Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa as its Chief Minister nominee.
