Chicago, Nov 7: The executive committee of Mangalorean Konkan Christians Association, USA announced its election results of office-bearers for the year 2008 - 2009.
Lawrence Mascarenhas was elected as the president, Mark Rodrigues as vice-president, Vissia D'Souza as secretary, Dorothy Rego as associate secretary and Mercy Concesso as the treasurer.
Lawrence Mascarenhas in his acceptance speech said, "Leading Managalorean Catholic Associations, anywhere in the world, is a challenge. MKCA is not an exception. Our founder president Dr Austin D'Souza Prabhu with his unique leadership skills laid a strong foundation to MKCA. His successor Stany D'Souza, who took over the leadership during the turbulent times, made the Association even stronger. Now, all I have to do is walk on their footstep."
Members expect stronger unification of Mangaloreans in Chicago land. The new board member Mark Rodrigues is a humble and generous man. Vissia D'Souza is a vibrant personality with highly organizational skills. Dorothy Rego who is known for affection and people skills has lot of potentials. Finally, Mercy Concesso, relatively new to the Association, has won many hearts with her talents and strait-forward attitudes.
The board has assured that it will rise to everyone's expectations and take the Association to greater heights.
