Speaking about the controversy, Yeddyurappa said there is no question of making changes in the list of office bearers already announced. He said that discussions had been held beforehand at various levels before district presidents and presidents for different Morchas of the party were made. About criticism being heaped on party general secretary, Shobha Karandlaje, he stated that Karandlaje has been functioning in tune with the party's policies and that she had not done anything wrong.
In the meanwhile, former minister, Renukacharya, who is known to be close to Yeddyurappa, speaking to press persons at New Delhi on Wednesday, accused some leaders of fuelling discontentment in the party as they abhor the leadership of Yeddyurappa. He said that appointments of office bearers of the party was made as per the advice of top brass of the party and that those who are opposing the appointments should understand that posts cannot be given to everyone. He thought that it was unbecoming of party leaders to go searching for mistakes committed by leaders at a time when there is favourable environment for BJP in Karnataka due to the failure of Congress.
Renukacharya, who said that the allegation of giving lion's share of the appointments to former KJP leaders was false, claimed that out of 36 posts of BJP district presidents, only five were from the erstwhile KJP.
