Abu Dhabi, Nov 16: Konkani Cultural Organisation Abu Dhabi conducted Talents day 2007 on Friday, 16 November at Sudanese Club Abu Dhabi.  This is one of the many activities organized by KCO round the year in its endeavour to serve community.  This time it was to promote talents and given an opportunity to budding Konkani singers to perform on the stage.  There was also a Fancy Dress competition.  The well chopped out event by the KCO members had an overwhelming response by Mangalorean Konkani speaking catholic community throughout the UAE.




Jonathan Rego a renowned compere of Abu Dhabi conducted the day’s event with great efficiency.  The newly elected president Robert Rego welcomed the gathering and encouraged the participants by saying that the very fact that individual have come forward to take part, makes them winners.

Judges for the singing competition were versatile musicians and talented singers of the mangalorean community namely Jossie Moras, Dorothy Pinto and Stanislaus D’souza.








The fancy dress competition was judged by talented actors namely Dayan D’souza, Averyl Rodrigues and Leo Rodrigues.

Overall the judges appreciated the performance.

The newly elected secretary Leena D’souza proposed the vote of thanks specially thanked the sponsors of the event Michael D’Silva (Noble Marine Metals), Ronald Pinto (Hyssna Engineering), Ned D’Cunha (Pepsi Abu Dhabi) and William Rodrigues (Oasis Water).

    It was a nice programee, i was present htere.But there was a small crowd to encourage the upcoming talented people. i think we need to encourage more and more people, to keep yp ur konkanni community

    Its nice to see the pictures of the Talents Day. Please can you all post the pictures of the winners of the Fancy dress Competetion, as we would like to see the costume. We heard it was very well presented. best wishes

    I was one among the audience at KCO Talents Day. It's nice to see Konkani Shining on foreign soil. Hats off to KCO for organising such an event. But, the noticable missing part was the audience. Almost 70% of the audience was either the participants or their parents. We always say that there is a huge no. of Konkani people in the U.A.E. I think atleast one out of 52 weekends we could sacrifice for our Konkani....
