Bangalore, Nov 19: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa resigned from his post on Monday.

As proceedings were on in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, he rose from his chair and announced that he will tender his resignation as he did not enjoy the confidence of the House.

He later handed over his resignation to the Governor Rameshwar Thakur.

"I have been told by my parents not to take what is not mine. The post of chief minister does not belong to me anymore," he said.

Immediately after Yeddyurappa announced his decision, the speaker of the House Krishna said that there is no need for a trust vote and adjourned the House sine die.

It was a humiliating moment for Yeddyurappa as he left the assembly in a huff. As he walked out, the opposition Congress rose from their seats and shouted, "Shame shame."

They wanted him to take the trust vote instead of tendering his resignation.

However, Yeddyurappa left for Raj Bhavan where he handed over his resignation to the governor.

Yeddyurappa, who made an emotional speech, said that he was never hungry for power and wanted to develop the state instead.

He said that in the past one and half year, he had only wished well for the people of Karnataka and wanted to work for their betterment.

Yeddyurappa also made it clear that he did not want to respond to the accusations made by the opposition. He also said that he did not wish to term the Janata Dal-Secular legislators as traitors.

Deve Gowda's actions clearly shows that Indian politicians will destroy a state or nation for their own/family's interest. Karnataka is suffering becos Devegowdas sons are fighting for power. Even in other political parties we see "family-interest" is supreme compared to national interest. No wonder India is loong way to become a super power

Gowda has only ruined the beuatiful state of Karnataka, he has emptied the the treasury, for his weekly dramas at Delhi and Bangalore. Its shame to all of us as we voted to this stupid politician's party. Since from the last election, not a single road in Karnataka has seen atleast patch work. Why we should vote them..? We all paying taxes to govt. to enjoy these dirty politicians, and make bad shame for Karnataka. Let's think for the future of our state...definitely not for Gowda..

The decision taken by Deva Gowda is significant. So called communal party should not get chance to form the Government which is threat to the people of Karnataka. As we have seen many example in other state.

Mr Yediyurappa, there is a saying,'JHO NAMAK KHAYA, WO THO PAANEE PINAHEE PADEGA So no point in weeping now. The greatest blunder your party did was, to tie up with HDDG and company earlier and the most foolish thing your party did later was, again agreeing for remarriage, even after the humiliating divorce, believing crocodile tears of Kummy.Hope in coming days your party will gather more political maturity. Please stop talking about, JANATHA NYAYALAYA (People mandate), as you should have gone for that earlier, instead of getting involved in circus to form the Govt, SOME HOW.

I am so very happy that Mr Yeddyurappa's government lasted for a week. Otherwise, the hapless child Lakshmi and her parents would have been deprived of the Rs one lakh gift that he gave them. That is the only good thing that has emerged from out of this fiasco.

This man deserves this. They trusted Gowda who ditched congress and power hungry BJP learnt a lesson. The way these developments were taking place clearly indicates the dirty politics in our home state. Shame on you dirty politicians. I want to ask the voters why don't they blacken the face of these politicians who are only interested in power an d wealth.

So looters beware and I am sure you will be kicked next time whenever you come to ask for the votes. Presidents rule should be imposed in Karnataka forever. Hope other parties won't tie up with JDS or in short Gowdas and burn their fingers. So Congress beware. You have been ditched once and Kannadigas don't want to see the drama yet again.

Sad day for Karnataka. First of all there shall be a people's government for a democratic set up -let it belong to any party. Karnataka has seen Congress & JD goverments. Now for a change they should taste BJP rule also. If these Mr Devegowda & his party wanted to withdraw the support why did they support BJP 10 days ago? Why they all went to Delhi? Ultimately they spend people's money. We have a very costly democracy and it is a joke of people who vote these guys.
