Bantwal, Nov 19: A newly-married woman was brutally murdered by her husband at Mangaje in Kariyangala village, here on Monday November 19.

The deceased woman has been identified as Ashwita (20), resident of Thumbe. The Bantwal town police have arrested her husband Santosh (25) who allegedly murdered her.

Santosh and Ashwita were married just 6 month’s ago, after a long love affair.

Sources stated that, Santosh was addicted to gambling on cock fight in their remote village and seems to have lost big money on betting on Sunday November 18. Heated argument followed between the couple, when Santosh returned home empty handed on Sunday.  At last, as in a fit of rage, he tried to end the issue by stabbing her chest with a pair of scissors, used in rolling bidis.

Is this a gift for love? The satan will come out soon after short jail term as a hero, the fact is that innocent lovely Ashwita lost her life, left a dream to her beloved parents, relatives and friends.

His head should be chopped in public ... the severest punishment should be given to him at the earliest ... there is no need for long trials in the courts

I would recommend to chop the head of the person in public ..... this would be a lesson for people who act as animals ... such an innoscent girl who trusted the person and married him !! what a fate ... the punishment should be to the severest ... never to be released to see the world anymore as he does not deserv it

so sorry about Ashwitha, it’s really a dreadful news, it's a huge loss for her parents, but what will be the punishment for Santosh? may be a week time in police custody then same as he will be back to the business, it's very much common. as Leena Pinto say's " govt has to ban all the gambling" why??? then what about the hungry local police? from where they will get the "haftha" ( even govt has never given any access to like these kind of gambling’s ) these all runned by the local goondas with the support of local polices. Santosh should be punished rudely and court should send him straightaway to the prison, “ he don’t have any right to live peacefully after killing the innocent Ashwitha “

This is too much, what can be done? Loss is for the parents. The boy will be released soon and will marry again. Ashwita is so beautiful, what did she find in that man, is this love? I just hope proper justification is given
