Dubai: Boniface Carlo Elected President of SMKC

Media Release

Dubai, Nov 20: During the general body meeting held on Monday, 19th November 2007, Boniface Carlo, was unanimously elected as the Main Coordinator of the St. Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), Dubai.
 
Seemingly quiet and a behind-the-scene person, he served as a Vice-Coordinator for the past four years and has been a core member since its inception in 2001.
 
On being elected, Bony spoke to the GB members stating that he needed their support and well-wishes to be able to carry on the responsibility of leading the strong community to continue extending help to the poor and needy and take SMKC a step forward.

Popular community leader Noel Mascarenhas was leading the SMKC ever since its inception in year 2001.

    A wonderful news and a perfect choice!. Mr.Boniface Carlo suits the chair so well. I rather say that St. Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC) is lucky to have a person of such a high caliber as Boney as a choice to the place of out going President Mr. Noel Mascarenhas who has set high standards during his tenure. Mr. Carlo, as rightly stated is a behind the scene stalwart who served the Karnataka Sangha Dubai as Vice President & Treasurer for more than 3 terms. During his tenure he kept the books clean and without any ambiguity. He is known to face the challenges with cool exterior and friendly gentle smile.

    A great family man and an excellent host, Boney takes life as it comes. His remarkably talented daughters Lavina & Lisa were the star performers in all Sagnha activities and son Leon has set a record by playing for UAE Cricket Team – a rare distinction. A ‘complete family’ indeed. We are very much delighted at this news and wish Boney all the great success in his selfless endeavor to take SMKC to greater heights of Glory.

    Congratulations Carlo, I was personally happy to read this artice as i know carlo for last 7 years and he is a self respected personality and a good leader.
