Chikkamagaluru, Jul 27: In an incident which occurred at Aldur in the district on the night of Monday July 25, Bajrang Dal workers reportedly attacked a group of labourers, alleging that they were from Bangladesh. The labourers had arrived in bus to work in coffee plantations here.
In this respect, the police have arrested six Bajrang Dal activists.
It is said that over 60 labourers of Assam origin were threatened and attacked. One of the labourers, identified as Hoyeisun, suffered serious injuries and got admitted into local hospital. The policemen who immediately rushed to the spot, took into custody youngsters from Aldur named Tejas, Shivakumar, Sudarshan, Sharat and Rohit, who are said to be activists of Bajrang Dal. They are being interrogated.
Recently disturbances had occurred after cow slaughter incident at Jayapura. The police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
