Mangaluru, Jul 28: Government agencies are almost certain that a city-based woman who went missing sometime back has joined ISIS. Information connected with this are being pooled together, it is gathered.
Already intelligence personnel from both Kerala and Karnataka have visited her home. Policemen of criminal intelligence department too inspected her residence.
The lady had completed diploma course in a medical college here. She married a person from Kozhikode, Kerala in 2015, and travelled to Sri Lanka with him. Six other family members also went with the couple. The group went to Muscat and Qatar from there as per information. They had remained incommunicado thereafter.
The list of 16 persons who went missing and supposedly joined ISIS as prepared by Kerala government recently contained names of this lady and her family members, it is said. After some days since they cut off all contacts, one of the members, Abdul Salam, had sent message to his close ones through social website, saying that he was ensconced in the heaven of Allah. The message emanated from Tarabodha, located on the border of Afghanistan with Syria, it is learnt. The intelligence department, which investigated this clue believes that the family of the woman is currently in Syria.
Policemen from internal security department of Kerala too visited the city and collected information, it is said.
