Udupi, Jul 29: District superintendent of police (SP), K Annamalai, visited thermal power plant of Adani-UPCL Ltd at Yellur village near Padubidri on Thursday July 28. On the occasion, a letter of assistance amounting to Rs 30 lac was handed over to Annamalai by the company executive director, Kishore Alva. This amount is meant for upgradation of police stations near the project area and welfare of police constables.
Kishore Ava, who welcomed Annamalai, appreciated the SP for winning over the trust of the people from the day he took over as the head of district police. He stated that the honest work Annamalai did by winning the confidence from the grass root level will ever remain etched in the memory of the people here.
A total of 50 helmets and two computers were handed over for the use of all the constables of Padubidri police station on behalf of Adani-UPCL.
Addressing the gathering, Annamalai appreciated the functioning of Adani group which is in the forefront of power generation in the country. Noting that the company is significantly contributing towards mitigating power shortage in the state, he wished the company further progress in the future.
On this occasion the SP was felicitated by Kishore Alva. The SP initiated the programme by planting saplings on both sides of Nandikoor-Shirva main road under the afforestation programme undertaken by Adani-UPCL.
Senior officials of the company, K Laxman, Pravat Kishore Sundar Rey, Girish Navada, Sudarshan Prasad, additional SP, N Vishnuvardhan, and Karkala assistant SP, Dr D P Sumana, were present.
