As Justice B Srinivasa Gowda, before whom the bail application had come up for hearing recused himself from the hearing on Monday, the petition was referred to the single judge bench presided over by Justice Anand Byrareddy on Tuesday August 2. The judge, during the hearing, observed that the behaviour of this kind with a woman officer was not acceptable and wondered how an officer can function if she is dealt with in this manner. He also bitterly observed that al the earlier cases pending against Marigowda have been withdrawn by the government, which shows the extent of political clout he wields.

The judge praised the woman officer for showing conviction and courage in filing the complaint. He firmly told the advocate appearing for Marigowda that the bail as sought for cannot be granted.

In the meanwhile, there is information that Marigowda is considering the pros and cons of surrendering before the police. Marigowda had approached court seeking anticipatory bail relating to threatening Mysuru deputy commissioner C Shikha, and obstructing her from discharging duties.

The police have intensified their efforts to nab Gowda, who has been missing since July 3, the day when he posed threat publicly to the deputy commissioner.

Congress gunda culture should be stopped, officers are allowed to work freely. If this happens in any law abiding countries like USA, Mari Gowda will never be able to contest in any election with the delinquency in his records.
