Bantwal: Tension Prevails in Town after Attack on Flower Vendor at B C Road

Bantwal, Nov 28: Tension prevailed in the town after a murder attempt on a flower merchant at B C Road bus stand in the wee hours of Wednesday November 28.
Shekhar Kulal, a flower merchant at B C Road bus stand, was attacked by 6 persons who arrived in 3 bikes at about 5-30 am on Wednesday. Miscreants wore face masks to conceal their identity, eye witnesses stated. Now, Shekhar Kulal has been admitted in a private hospital at Deralakatte following serious injuries all over his body.
Police have taken initiative to arrest the miscreants. But the reason behind the attack is not yet known. Although, Shekhar had identified himself in a few pro-Hindu organizations, he had never involved in any clashes. Hence, the police sources stated that professional rivalry might have resulted in this attack.
Bundh:
Al most all the shops in B C Road town pulled shutters on Wednesday, after the attack on Shekhar Kulal. Though none of the premier organizations have called for bundh, shopkeepers and merchants voluntarily closed their business concerns. But the government offices, banks and medical shops remained open as usual.
Dr Harsha, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) has reached the spot. Meanwhile, additional police forces have been deployed to tackle any adverse situation. Tight security has also been arranged in sensitive places like Thumbe and Farangipet.
