Mangalore: Nora F Rodrigues Conferred with ‘Library Service Award’

Mangalore, Dec 5: Nora F Saldanha nee Rodrigues, who has been serving as library assistant at Mallikatte public library was conferred with ‘Library Service Award’ recently, in recognition of her significant service in library department.
The award was presented to her, during the valedictory ceremony of ‘National Library Week’ which was held at Shravanabelagola Mahakavi Pampa Library, in Hassan district. P Y Rajendrakumar, director of public library department, C N Balakrishna, president of Hassan Zilla Panchayat, Shravanabelagol MLA C S Putte Gowda, Hassan Deputy Commissioner, Ashwathanarayan Gowda and others were present on this occasion.
Nora F Saldanha, daughter of the late Willam Rodrigues and Irene Goveas was born and brought up in Bajpe. She has been serving in public library for the last 10 years. Earlier, she had served at St Ann’s Teachers' Training Institute, in the city and St Joseph’s Junior College, Bajpe, as librarian.
She was the only person selected for this award from undivided Dakshina Kannada, this time. She is living with husband Dolphy Saldanha and daughters Deena Saldanha and Nadeen at Kaibattalu in Kadri.
