Mangalore, Dec 6: The South India level Powerlifting Championship organized by Balanjaney Gymnasium which was inaugurated on Tuesday Wednesday 4, having been drawing huge audience at Town Hall here.  The championship is organized by Balanjaney Gymnasium in association with Karnataka Powerlifting Association (KPLA).














The results of South – India power lifting competitions which were held to mark the diamond jubilee celebrations of Sri Balanjaneya Gymnasium at Town Hall, in the city on Thursday, December 6, are:

  • B Raja from Tamil Nadu (TN) secured first place under 57.5 kgs category in sub-junior division.
  • R Magesh from TN secured distinction with first place under 67.5 kgs category, in junior men’s division, with 272.5 kgs beating the earlier record of 267.5 kgs held by M Nagappan from TN.
  • P Pushparaj from TN secured first place in 67.5 kgs category under senior men’s division.
  • N Kamala Kannan from TN secured first place in 75 kgs category under sub junior men’s division.
  • K R Janaki Rama from TN secured first place in below 75kgs category under junior men’s division.
  • S Madhavanan from TN secured first place in 75kgs category under senior men’s division.
  • Adweed Gopal K from Kerala secured first place below 82.5 kgs category under sub-junior men’s division.
  • A Senthil from TN secured first place in 82.5 kgs category under junior men’s division, with 287.5 kgs beating the previous record 275 kgs held by M A Gopi from Karnataka.
  • B Prasad from Andhra Pradesh (AP) secured first place in above 82.5 kgs category under senior men’s division with 177.5 kgs beating the previous record 175kgs held by M Senthil from TN.
  • K L Poornima from Karnataka secured first place in below 44 kgs category under sub-junior women division.
  • B Mohana from TN secured first place in above 44 kgs category under junior women division.
  • Jyothi N B from Karnataka secured the first place in 48 kgs category under senior women’s division.
  • J Kalai Selvi from TN secured the first place in 58 kgs category under sub-junior women’s division.
  • Netravathi V from Karnataka secured the first place in 48 kgs category under junion women’s division.
  • V Rajalakshmi from TN secured the first place in 52kgs category under sub-junior women’s division.
  • S Menaka from TN secured the first place in 52 kgs category under junior women’s division.
  • U Sudha Prabhu from Karnataka secured the first place in 52 kgs category under senior women’s division.
