Dubai: SMKC Elects New Core-committee

Dubai, Dec 7: St. Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), Dubai under the able leadership of Noel Mascarenhas has made great strides in reaching out to the poorest of the poor inspite of facing many challenges. The then spiritual director and founder Fr. Cyprian D’Souza was instrumental in motivating the St. Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC) with the help of core committee and general body members.

Although the growth was slow and steady, today SMKC Dubai, being a premier association in the Middle-East region, has been able to reach out to countless needy persons since its inception 2001.
Noel Mascarenhas
Noel Mascarenhas during his tenure as Main Co-ordinator rendered yeoman service to the Konkan Community for the past six glorious years. Having served three terms as Main Co-ordinator, this year he expressed his desire to step down voluntarily from the post of Main Co-ordinator. Hence during the last general body meeting held recently, Mr. Boniface Carlo was unanimously elected as the successor to Noel Mascarenhas. However, Noel will serve as an Honorary Advisor to SMKC Dubai.
