Bantwal: Private buildings at Kudtamugeru razed to ground

Bantwal, Aug 25: Illegally built private buildings, which were obstructing the proposed construction of veterinary and health centres at Kudtamugeru in the taluk were razed to the ground by revenue department of the taluk and Kolnadu gram panchayat.

The villagers had been demanding for veterinary centre and health centre on the government land at Kudtamugeru since long. As per the instructions of district in-charge minister, Ramanath Rai, this land was earmarked for the above purposes. But some individuals who had encroached upon this land, had been blocking the efforts of the panchayat to get these buildings constructed, it is gathered.

After a struggle which went on for nearly 15 years, as per the orders of the tahsildar of the taluk, the illegal buildings were removed. Vittal police stood guard during this operation.
