BUNTS Dubai lifts BUNTS Throwball Cup in a thrilling encounter.

Sharjah, Dec 7: As the winter sets in with a blanket of pleasant setting, sporting activities gets momentum in the Emirates. Like wise the throwball season has also begun with right earnest. Kannadiga women, whose favorite pastime game is Throwball, await the arrival of this season so that they can exhibit their newly acquired talents to win major events.  Many ‘professional’ teams have smarted up to take news challenges and are ready to settle outstanding scores between them. It is reported that Teams are trained well and are brimming to forge ahead to win the prestigious tournaments which are in offing this new season, which in turn provides the lovers of the game and spectators a delightful mixtures of aerobatics, power play, spinning throws, rocket smashes, wily net moves and exhibition of gutsy endurance volleys.

BUNTS Throw Dubai Open to All Throw ball tournament which is the second tournament this season, saw seven leading teams vying for this glittering cup.
 
In a thrilling seesaw three match finals which was played will lots of exuberance, BUNTS Dubai lifted the cup by defeating Mangalore Konkans Dubai by  15-7, 7-15 & 15-14 to the thunderous cheers of its supporters and audience.














Tournament was colorfully inaugurated by releasing balloons by Ashok Shetty, Baagya Premnath Shetty and Ravi Shetty.
 
Sathish Shetty, ‘Alico’ welcomed the teams and lovers of the game who assembled in large numbers.

Individual Honours:
 
Best Striker: Sujatha Shetty, Bunts Dubai
Best Receiver: Coleen Quadros, Mangalore Konkans
Best All rounder: Shakeela Shetty, Bunts Dubai
 
K.Sudhakar Alva, Taranath Rai compared the event and also provided the running commentary. The tournament was well organised and very tasty lunch provided by Chavdi Restaurant, Dubai added to the sports festivity and day long activity.
 
After the Prize distribution ceremony , Sudhakar Alva proposed vote of thanks.

    Today one of my friend called me and told about the comments & reactions about our tournament.when I saw that, I was surprised.First of all let me thank all the people who has sent their comments & feedback.My special thanks to Mr Charles & Ms Jesintha for their feedback.

    As a one of the organiser and as referee for last 6years,I want to clarify few points.Myself and Mr Melwyn are refereeing in all the major tournrments in U.A.E from last 6 years.(This include 3D.S.F tournaments which was conducted by Dubai government sports zone)We are referred the international throwball fedaration rules and regulation manual.

    How many people here know when throwball originally started and where it was started?I can go on & on in this subject.But still We are also making few mistakes in matches.Take it any international sports and refree's, everybody is making mistakes.One important point,

    I want to put everybody's notice.Ask any throwball tournment organiser's here,how difficult it is  to arrange referee's.Nobody is ready to stand as referee for throwball.This include the scholl P.D's(If anybody want I can provide names)And regarding the ball used in the tournament, it is approved ball from throwball fedration of India and supplied by Mr Shekar & Co Mangalore.Suggestions well taken.We will take care in future.Thank you once again.

    Throwball tournament was organised well.After reading all the comments,I understand that many got upset with Charles for his comments. Take it possitively because one of the refrees did not follow the rules introduced in the beginning of the tournament. His mistakes were observed even by the winners. Since it was told not to argue with referees,all had to keep quite. After all refrees decision is final.Isn't it? I feel the organisers should keep in mind how they can do best in the future.

    Congrats Bunts Dubai team & the organisers.it was a well organised tournament I have ever witnessed. The referees have done a good job,especially Mr.Melwyn was the best.  Mr.Charles must note that no one is perfect in this world.  Melwyn has refereed many matches including the DSF ones.it is only after he being one of the referees,that proper throwball rules have been seen.  I have personally seen them discussing the throwball rules booklet.

    Dear Mr.Charles, please note that nobody is perfect in this world. If you are rea....ly sportsman then you will never blame any referee's. Winning and loosing is the part of the game. So I think you need to question your own views on this matter.If we play badly it is really very harsh to put blame on Referees and judges..

    Mr. Charles , if a team lose doesn't mean you should blame others for that. You should be sporting. The team I supported had lost but I know that these were the best Judgements I had encountered within past seven years. Well Done Bunts Dubai for organising such a marvelous tournament

    To All, It's a wonderful & colourful event in Sharjah wonderers' club. I wish to congratulate all the members (led by Mr.Alwa)of the organising committe for their effort and enthusiasm. Also I would like to mention about Mr.Melvin who was a main referee for the toournment did a wonderful job and he was very professinal. Thanks for the wonderful weekend & good luck R.Shetty

    Mr Charles I have been in this field since last 15 years out of 10 years as referee and was watching all the games very carefully its one of the best referee and judges. Instead of writing all the hard work wasted Please correct your statement that "Hardey working wasted"

    Dear Charles, the quality of judges in the tournament was upto the mark and this is confirmed by the least amount of questioning by the teams during the games. So I think you need to question your own views on this matter.

    Mr Charles Dsouza please don't put false comments, it was well organized and judges and side referees are up to standard and also highly appreciated by lots of professional people.. If you play badly it is really very harsh to put blame on Referees and judges..
