Kuwait: KCWA Christmas Celebrations - Photo Album

Kuwait, December 8: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) under the leadership of Jossie Pinto Nantoor celebrated its annual Christmas Party at CARMEL SCHOOL Auditorium (basement hall) on 7th December from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The different competitions (Christmas Greeting Card contest, Christmas Tree Decoration contest and Christmas Star contest) were held from 2:30 pm 3:45 pm.
The program started with warm welcome by Rudy followed by honoring the judges of all competitions. President Jossie Pinto Nantoor spoke few words regarding the association and the event. Member’s children who received first Holy Communion in the year 2007 were felicitated during the function. “MANDD SOBHANN” fame Eric Ozario was present for the function and was felicitated during the program.
Mabel Alphonso, Sam Alphonso, P.V.Saldanha and Lawrence D’Souza sponsored merit scholarships were awarded to the students of tenth and twelfth standard for academic excellence in Kuwait and India. “Spinney’s Confectionery” sponsored extra-curricular award for members' children was awarded for the child who won in CBSE inter-school competitions, inter-college competitions or represented the school outside the state/country in the academic year 2006-07. Special members draw was held for the active member present on the venue and also for renewal of membership for 2008 and new members.
Sponsors and co sponsors were felicitated after the Solo Dance Contest. Audience enjoyed rare Hindi, Konkani and Kannada songs sung by KCWA singers. Games were conducted to all the age groups. Jesus painting of Trever was auctioned and bought by Nancy after a tough pricing competition by many. The Christmas message was given by Fr. Melvyn D’Cunha and Fr. Theo offered the grace before meal.
Hamper draw was held with fabulous prizes during the event. Esther Noronha who came from India entertained the crowd with her mind blowing Bharatanatyam dance performances on ‘The Wonderful Creation of the Almighty Creator’ and ‘O Lord Craving to See You’. Later she was felicitated for her achievements. Jovas XLNC entertained the crowd with their Christmas dance. The main attraction of the program was Santa’s entry and traditional “NATHALANCHO NAACH” by Valerian Sanctis and his Troup. All enjoyed this and joined to dance with Santa and party.
Tressy delivered the word of gratitude. The whole event was dedicated to KCWA Family, especially to children, which had Santa giving away goodies to children, Christmas tableau, DJ music, Baila Masala, dances to the tune of Scorpions, spot prizes, awards, gifts galore and delicious dinner buffet served by Caesars Restaurant.
