Mangaluru, Sep 2: Businessman Naresh Shenoy, who has been named as prime accused in the murder of RTI activist from the city, Vinayak P Baliga, has filed bail application in the state high court.
The bail application came before the single judge bench presided over by Justice B Srinivas Gowda on Thursday September 1. The bench put off hearing of the application to Friday.
Vinayak Baliga was slain in the early hours on March 21 this year with sharp weapons on a road near his home. The police had initially arrested two persons, but prime accused, Naresh Shenoy, had gone missing. Shenoy appeared during last week of June after his anticipatory bail petitions were dismissed by lower courts and high court, after which he was arrested.
