Puttur: Speeding KSRTC bus hits bike, pillion rider woman dies

Puttur, Sep 8: A woman lost her life after a KSRTC bus, in the bid to overtake the bike she was travelling, moved left, hit the bike and she came under the wheels of the bus. The accident took place at Mukrampady near here on Thursday, September 8.

The deceased is identified as Ameena (30) from Kalanja Village in Sullia taluk. Ameena was six months pregnant.

Ameena, her husband Moideen Kunhi (40) and son Mohammed Maharoof (3) were going towards Sullia while the KSTRC bus was playing towards Mysuru.

Moideen Kunhi and Maharoof sustained minor injuries as the three fell on the road after the bus hit the bike. Ameena could not be saved.

A case has been registered in Puttur town traffic police station and investigation is on.

    The KSRTC drivers on this stretch of road don't bear anyone driving ahead of them for long. They overtake them even at dangerous curves.

    Some accidents happened just in some months including the Trasi one and all of us felt sorry for the families. Our hearts cried, we raised our voices and commented a lot. IS THERE ANY USE, OR DID ANY CHANGE TAKEN PLACE. Everyone who got involved to gain TRP of their own. Today really feeling bad about our system.

    Some brainless engineers come up with some idea to develop roads, some moneymaking people propose it to the government and we get widened roads. Surprising is that in these road people have no manners of driving. They just dont bother while they drive but they will be the first to run towards the accident and talk about that.

    Recently the road got widened without proper crossings, proper flyovers etc. No flyovers at all for pedestrians to cross such wide roads.

    Am i educating someone who dont even know the importance of human life and a have no courtesy to a deceased individual's family that how important he/she was to that family....Have you ever think about that family after that person dies in a accident???? do you ever think????? BETTER THINK.

    It is a common sight to see buses speeding all over and even in Mangalore City. It is often seen that they do not park the vehicles at the designated bus halts and even if they stop at the bus halts they park several yards away from the bus halts.

    In this particular case it is for the traffic department to determine the cause of the accident and punish the driver if he is wrong.

    As an answer to this problem, it is best that speed governors are fitted on transport vehicles.
