Mangaluru, Sep 10: Campus Front of India (CFI) has accused the principal and some lecturers of BPharma in Srinivas College, Valachil of lodging false police complaint misusing Anti Ragging Law against three students who had taken part in the protest against the college administration on burqa issue.
Addressing a press conference held in city on Saturday, September 10, CFI state president Thaufail said that the students were arrested by Mangaluru rural police on the basis of false complaint of ragging.
“The Principal and some lecturers in the college had submitted the complaint due to vendetta. The signatures of four victims whose names are mentioned in the FIR were obtained on the complaint after they were threatened. The victims now have handed over a letter to the deputy commissioner of police today that they had signed the complaint due to pressure from principal and other lecturers,” he said.
“Therefore CFI urges the police to release all the three students who were arrested on false complaint. We urge the college management to suspend the principal and lecturers who are directly responsible for the arrests. We also demand to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future”, he added.
CFI district president Mohammed Athaullah Riyaz and others were present.
