Mangaluru, Sep 11: Fans of Konkani music were treated to a memorable evening as renowned singer Lancy Moras presented his tenth musical nite before a packed audience at Don Bosco hall on Saturday, September 10.
The event was presented by Moushmi Creations and sponsored largely by Thomas Moraes and family Nirude from Saudi Arabia.
The evening reverberated with an engaging array of Konkani songs. Most songs were based on the theme of love - love between young couples, family, love of a mother, love for the Konkani language and community and the country. The musical evening was opened with a hymn of praise to the Lord.
Lancy Moras was accompanied by Rony Crasta, Senet Dcunha, Ivy D'souza, Clerita Lobo, Sangeetha Balachandra, Cleyon D'silva, Leo Nida Moraes, Ashwin Dcosta, Zeena Periera, Seema Carlo, Elton Pinto, Jerry D'souza and Rony Crasta- the line-up of singers. All singers pleased the spectators with catchy numbers.
Addressing the gathering, the main sponsor of the event, Thomas Moraes, said, "Konkani is our mother tongue and I thank Lancy for giving me an opportunity to do something for my language. I wish his talent grows manyfold and that he presents many more nites in the days to come."
Parish priest of Bajjodi church Fr Sabhas Crasta said, "I am happy that Lancy has shared his gift with many. He has taken all the young talents and thereby has given an opportunity for new talents. I congratulate him and wish him the best."
Assistant parish priest of Bajjodi church Fr Ivan D'souza, maketing manager of Daijiworld group Praveen Tauro, Hilda Moras, Leonida Moushmi Moras and others were present.
Bindass Pernal group entertained the audience with comedic performances which sent the spectators into laughter.
Muralidhar Kamath was the music director and Rajesh Moily, Manikandan, Shaju Vaadiyil and Pradeep Kulal performed music. Panja was sound engineer.
Aun Danthy, Preetham Fajir, Elson Hirgan and Roshan Crasta were the four masters of ceremony who managed the show.
