Udupi, Sep 12: Udupi district and session court has acquitted the husband and his parents of rape charges levelled by a woman.
Father-in-law Suhas Salvankar, mother-in-law Sushila Salvankar and husband Ravi Salvankar are the ones acquitted in the court.
Ravi Salvankar was married to the said complainant in Udupi in June, 2010. The woman filed a complaint of harassment and attempt to rape, against her husband and in-laws, in the house in Alevoor. A police case was registered in Manipal police station. Ten witnesses were questioned during the trial
Justice Shivashanker B Amarannavar opined that Suhas Salvanker appeared to be very weak and was incapable of rape. He thus acquitted all three suspects from legal charges laid against them.
Advocate Ravikirana Murdeshwara of Kundapur had argued the case for accused in the court.
