Mangaluru, Sep 13: "I have never spoken against the party. I have been speaking out openly for ensuring that the party survives. I have carried on struggles even in the past on behalf of the people, and my pro-people attitude will stay. I have never been alone, and six crore Kannadigas are on my side," said former union minister, B Janardhana Poojary, addressing media here on Monday September 12.
Poojary said that when he was union minister of state for finance, he had introduced Loan Melas in spite of tough opposition from almost all the states. He said he continues own rigid stands based on principles even now.
"I will give fitting reply to complaint made by Digvijay Singh to Congress high command. I believe that for Congress high command, people are important, not in-charge leaders. I also am of the opinion that the high command will not show the dumbness to blindly believe what a state party in-charge claims," he said.
About the proposed notice, he said he is waiting for such a notice, and that he is eager to give a befitting reply. "I have always worked and spoken for the good of the people. If I am found guilty of that and punished, I am prepared to face it," he stated. He pointed out that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president had not spoken against him and expressed hope that he might have understood the feelings of people from the state.
"Not only me and Vishwanath, even Oscar Fernandes, Veerappa Moily, and Dharam Singh have worked hard to build the party in the state," he added. About anti-Yettinahole agitation, Poojary said that he will not stop fighting against the project till eithr the battle is won or his own life comes to an end.
