Committee to Look into Security Measures in Multiplexes

PTI

Mumbai, Dec 17 (mb): Maharashtra government has set up a committee to review security measures being implemented in multiplexes which have come up in Mumbai in the last four years.

The committee will be headed by former secretary of the Public Works Department M V Mirani and would submit its report within three months.

It will also check if the multiplexes were constructed as per Development Control rules and would also examine if any changes are needed in the existing rules in view of strengthening security.

State government has received several complaints alleging that developers of the multiplexes in Mumbai had not taken proper precaution while constructing these multiplexes and had ignored security-related aspects.
