Mumbai, Dec 18: The golden jubilee celebrations of Kannada Sangh, Santacruz, East, was held on Sunday December 16, at Narayana Guru Auditorium of Billava Bhavan, located in Santacruz, East.
Jaya C Suvarna, president of Billava Association inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Pernankila Haridas Bhat, managing trustee of Sri Ambika Mandir, conveyed best wishes. Sanjeev Kanchan, eminent lawyer, president of Citizens Organization for Public Opinion Organization and chairman of BJP Legal Cell was the chief guest present. L V Amin, president of Kannada Sangh, Santacruz, presided over the programme.
H P Nayak, proprietor of Gold Image, K M Shetty, proprietor of Canberra Industries, Mahesh Shetty, proprietor of Baba’s Group of Industries, Divakar Shetty, managing director of Divya Sagar Group of Hotels were present.
Concluding ceremony:
The concluding ceremony was presided over by L V Amin, president of Kannada Sangh. M B Kukyan, eminent litterateur, vice-president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Maharastra unit and honorary editor of ‘Akshaya’ Kannada monthly journal, released the souvenir.
Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, founder-chairman of Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, an NGO was the chief guest present at the occasion. Vasudev R Kotian, deputy chairman of Bharath Co-Operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, Aikala Harish Shetty, vice-president of World Bunts Association, Kumar Bangera, executive president of Mumbai News and director of Mahalaxmi Builders, Gregory D’Almeida, entrepreneur and movie producer, were present at the occasion.
Chandrahas J Kotian, honorary treasurer, G R Bangera, joint secretary, Sundar V Amin, joint treasurer, Narayan S Shetty, advisor, Felix D’Souza, N M Sanil, Dinesh Amin, Sujatha R Shetty, Prema R Kotian, Narayan S Shetty, executive committee president, B R Poonja, were present.
B D Suvarna, honorary chief secretary of Sangh, read the report. Nithyanand D Kotian, vice-president of Sangh and programme committee, delivered the introductory note. B Ravindra Amin, executive president, proposed vote of thanks. Various entertainment programmes were held by children’s troupe of ‘Chinnara Bimba’ and members of various social welfare and voluntary organizations.
