Kallianpur: Inter-Collegiate ‘Histo-Scope’ at Milagres College

Udupi, Dec 19: An Inter Collegiate Cultural Fest was held at Milagres College, Kallianpur organised by Humanities Association of their College, from Tuesday, December 18 to Wednesday, December 19. The fest was inaugurated in an unique way through symbolically bursting crackers by U R Sabapathy, ex-MLA.
Prof Hilda Rodrigues, head of department of Economics and Commerce, was the chief guest of the occasion.
Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief and of www.dajiworld.com, was the guest of honour.
Acclaiming the theme of art fest, ‘Histo-Scope’07’, in order to re-live the history of freedom struggle, U R Sabhapathy, called upon the youth to unite and excel in whatever they do. He also appealed them to preserve the cultural heritage of great India.
Walter Nandalike, in his address narrated his own success story behind floating www.daijiworld.com, by several years of hard work becoming computer-savvy with perseverance, persistence, drive for innovation and creativity. Today, www.daijiworld.com has become portal linking coastal Karnataka to the rest of the world.
Prof. Hilda Rodrigues, praising the effort of B.A students, in putting up ‘Art-Shine’07’ invited them to contemplate on the sacrifice and ideals of freedom fighters. She posed the question, whether we are truly proud to be Indians today? To the students.
’Art-Shine’07’ a cultural fest was held for two days with competitions, namely, 'pen and present', patriotic songs, dance, quiz, 'Histo-Museum' etc. Ten teams of Mangalore University participated in ‘Art-Shine’07’.
Dr. Vinay Rajath, convener of ‘Art Shine’07’ who by his motivation and sincere effort made this unique fest possible..
