There are so many carts selling bhel puri, chinese and other food items all over the city at night time. Are the corporation officials and police checking the licenses of these. The restaurants are losing business while there is no proper sanitation and cleanliness maintained by these carts. Do not stop them from selling, but ensure that they are licensed and follow the minimum standards.

MCC should firstly allot them a place and then start this tiger operation. But not once in a blue. Regularly do the raids.

MCC officers should have warned these street vendors to vacate by one or two hours. Instead, taking away their goods and giving free of cost at Vamanjur is not correct. What trafic police doing when such items are sold for last few years in this area? At the end of the day they take bagful of fruits and vegetables from these poor people. Why don't u collect a fixed amount by selling MCC Tickets for each day like PARKING FEES for two wheelers, even if they keep for 5 minutes, they collect charges in some places. Pl adopt this and maintain a timing for them, or allow them to sell at one single place in NEHRU MAIDAN, JEPPE MARKET, URVA MAIDAN, URVA STORE MAIDAN ETC.. like VARADA SANTHE. No harm for citizens, trafic, local business houses. Provide fixed place, time with a TOKEN and also drinking water and sanitation facility, two policemen to watch and maintain crowd.

question to all who wrote against this drive. Just imagine, you own a shop at same place , paying a huge tax, owning business / trade license which is also received after such a major struggle and effort... after everything you open a shop and there you see few other road side vendors ...sitting in front of your shop... selling same goods cheaper than you...

Now you tell me will you support this drive or not. they don't pay any tax, no license... still they want to do the business. Whole world know they earn lot more than shop vendors.

Second question, same road side vendors leave the space , could be in front of your shop, could be the foot path which is approach to your shop... or regular foot path... or it could be in front of your house ... get it dirtied with their waste, screams, public gathering... blocking the foot path...

In this situations also... will you say they are poor people?

So, it's easy to comment. but for everything there is a law and order. Everybody should adhere to the same. Mallya ran away with crores of money, that doesn't mean , bank should entertain other business men in the same way and allow him to loot the public money... can they ? Politicians will loot so much of public money.. does that means anybody can be allowed to loot public money... No.

So, it's mandatory for all of us to adhere to the rules and regulations... yes, we can entertain ourselves till no action is taken. Once under radar and action taken against our wrong actions, we can not fight back justifying giving some excuses....

There are so many other sectors and areas where the police can take their action. The street vendors are selling their goods for lesser price and the people have choice to buy wherever it suits their wallet. A fix time/duration can be allotted so vendors-buyers both can be happy.

I think the Municipality should start leasing authorised carts for the vegetables and food vendors and provide them designated areas to ply their trade ...dont just use muscle power ..every citizen has a right to earn his food ..educate them or help them ..not push them around

I have nothing against the street vendors. only issue is that they dispose off waste in road itself and take the parking space. The MCC must legalise them by giving space inside the maket .

So according to you, the authorities should not bother to clear out vendors who occupy footpaths and other public spaces in mangalore until all construction on unauthorised places is stopped everywhere in karnataka/india?

Very soon street vendors will unite smartly,
    :-Download Apps! order online,
They will home-delivery your day to day needed fruits and vegetables,
    No municipality no Hafta,
Chicken farmers already started this idea,
In future open street market will be only occupied by beggars and moral police.
