Mangalore: Powerful Blast in Rented House at Marnamikatte – No Casualties Reported

Mangalore, Dec 22: A powerful blast took place at the house of Abdul Shukoor which was given for rent to Abdul Samad at Marnamikatte near here on Saturday December 22.

Sources said that the Abdul Samad was staying with his wife Zeenath and his son Siraj in the said house. The blast took place in the early hours of Saturday December 22. The impact of the blast was such powerful that 3 neighbouring houses of were also partially damaged.

However, so far nothing is known about the cause of the blast.  Initially it was believed that the tragedy was the result of a gas cylinder blast.  But surprisingly, cylinder was found intact in the house which now posed several questions regarding the authenticity of this theory. 

Meanwhile none of the family members were available for immediate comments.  When contacted by the media persons, they refused to divulge any information and even avoided facing the media persons.

Pandeshwar police led by inspector Venkatesh Prasanna have already arrived on the spot and initiated an investigation in this reagard.

    Hope the police will not just take this as a stray incident. All angles including links to ISI have to be examined.
