Mangaluru, Oct 5: Most awaited Tulu film ‘Barsa’ directed by Devdas Kapikad, produced under the banner of 'Bolli Movies' will be released in undivided Dakshina Kannada on October 13.
Addressing the press meet at the press club here on Wednesday October 5, director Devdas Kapikad said, "The movie has secured a 'U' certificate from the censor board. This movie is a family entertainment movie. It also is the third movie produced under the banner 'Bolli Movies'. The film has been produced by Sharmila D Kapikad, Mukesh Hegde and Swapna Shrinivas Kini. Sachin A S is the executive producer, Manikanth Kadri has provided the background music, P L Ravi has done the cinematography, Mass Madha has handled the stunts and Sujith Nayak has done the editing, Giri and Gowri have done the dance direction for the movie while associate director is name Arjun Kaje,"
Actor Arjun Kapikad, debutant Kshama Shetty are cast in the movie. Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Lakshman Malooru, Sarojini Shetty, Gopinath Bhat, Chethan Rai Mani, Santhosh Shetty, Sathish Bandale, Thimmappa Kulal, Umesh Mijar, Sundar Rai Mandara, Suresh Kulal have also acted in this movie.
Devdas Kapikad also said 'Aremarler' and 'Pisinte' will be his next movies. Next in queue, are two Tulu dramas - 'Kodebudpale' and 'Namaskara Mastre'.
Sachin the executive producer said that the film will be screened in Bengaluru and Mysuru in the month of November. The film will be also screened worldwide in theatres in the coming days. As promotion for the movie 'Barsa' , the team will launch a truck during the Dasara procession. The truck will go around the undivided district, promoting the movie.
"Several artists are deprived of the access to town hall. The earlier days artists of drama and Yakshagana used to exhibit their first shows at town hall and it was affordable. And several programmes were scheduled there. But after the renovation of town hall, the rent has been increased," expressed an unhappy Kapikad.
Sharmila D Kapikad, Mukesh Hegde and Swapna Srinivas Kini were present at the occasion.
