Mangaluru, Oct 10: Moodbidri MLA and former minister, K Abhaychandra Jain, clarified that rumours making the rounds about him taking political retirement were false. "They are just rumours. There is no truth in them," he stated.
Jain felt that he still has a lot of service to render by being in politics. He added that he is neither interested in retiring from politics, nor has anyone advised him to do so.
When questioned by media persons about the news that Jain had said that he had decided to make way for youngsters in the Congress by not contesting for the MLA post again, during the tea party in the company of chief minister at the residence of chief whip of the legislative council, Ivan D'Souza, Jain said "I am 65. Youth have to get a chance to serve. I have already served six terms as MLA,"
On a question whether there are plans to make him district Congress president, Jain said, 'wait and watch', before smiling and going away.
