Beltangady: Circle inspector Nemiraj suspended for demanding bribe

Beltangady, Oct 14:  Dakshina Kannada district superintend of police, Bhushan Gulabrao Borase has suspended Belthangady circle inspector Nemiraj till further notice.

Acting on the report submitted by additional SP Dr C B Vedamurthy regarding a bribery involving Nemiraj, SP ordered the suspension on Friday, October 14.

It is alleged that Nemiraj had demanded Rs 20,000 bribe to write a ‘B’ report of a case registered under IT act. The demand was recorded in phone and was submitted to additional SP by complainant Dhanakirthi Ariga with some other supporting documents.

 


It is said that there were also other complaints against Nemiraj .

    The S.P. Bhushan has indeed taken the right step. If indeed it is proved that Nemiraj had demanded a bribe he should be dealt with as per law.

    Civil Service rules must be changed in order to facilitate the dismissal of corrupt officials with prima facie evidence. They should be given a chance to fight their case in the court of justice. In many cases suspension will make them come back by paying bribes to investigating officer. These people have no fear of asking bribe because if caught, they can come back by paying bribes. It is that simple.

    Taking bribe is a routine ritual in this Dept. When a lower personnel takes bribe it is distributed to the higher ups too! So no harm done and he will be safe. Without paying bribe a constable will not get leave granted or a day off!

    Immediate and urgent steps should ne taken so that he doesn't commit suicide, else there would be case against the SP and Ad.SP for following the law.

    Just to prevent any harassment, he should be promoted during suspension else he may feel harassed and kill himself.

    Please save his life.

    @Melwyn-Mangalore/Dubai, Your Th thoughts and suggestions are very true. Yes its to be that way, if Higher authority do like the same, People will get fair Justice. Because, some time back it's happened with me, in my 45 years, I never seen the same Police station, some one give falls complained again me and my family for no reason, at the same Police Station. When I visited personally first time in my life, they were abusing without any reason and proof, even never give chance to justify, straight away they trying to put FIR and Rape case, when I was trying to clarify the real Truth. Myself/my Family realized the moment how much these officials are corrupt and blind towards the innocent people ? ? ? Today The Truth is come out, Almighty is never silent, on or other day the real truth will come to the light.

    Terminate him and give chance to others who are waiting for employment and make this as a bench mark to warn other officers who are indulged in corruption. Also keep an eye on Brammavar C.Inspector Arun.

    One in hundred caught if there is disagreement between two parties. For corruption we public have to be blamed, to get our work done fast or to get some concession we just continue the age old practice as it part and parcel of all works done. Everywhere there is Andolan against corruption but bribing continues without any problem.

    @Melwyn Mangalore,that will happen only who is correct and not involved in any bribe case.When one thinks,almost all are in the same line.Hardly we will find a correct ,honest Person in this branch.Even one is honest and correct ,he will be either transfered elsewhere or wrong Report will be there from higherones.This poor fellow got caught by mistake whereas a number of others are still enjoying the extra salary.
